"For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding." – Proverbs 2:6
Lightkeepers Homeschool network is an excellent support network that is open to the community. They support, encourage, and equip the teaching parents. Our network provides Christian fellowship for families through education and service to others.
Mission
The Lightkeepers support families in raising godly young people who are spiritually wise, skilled, knowledgeable, and prepared to serve and glorify the Lord Jesus in all areas of their lives.
Parent Support
Parents meet the first Tuesday of every month from 6:45 to 9:30 pm. Meetings include a short devotion, valuable discussion topics, activity planning, and fellowship time. There is a $2.00 meeting fee to cover costs for speakers and meeting supplies.
Student Activities
Group activities and class planning is conducted two to four times monthly (usually on Thursdays). Examples of classes are Crafts, Gym, Art, Writing, and Geography Club. There are also field trips and special activities such as Field Day, Arts and Scraps, Detroit Puppet Theater, Thanksgiving and Valentine parties. Families only pay for the activities or classes they select to attend. Most activities have a nominal fee of $1.00 to $4.00 per class per child. There are no yearly membership fees, however all families within the group are expected to facilitate a class or plan an activity at least once during the school year.
