Our Philosophy of Ministry

The one-fold mission of our congregation, reconciliation, is given to us by God. We are to bring the saving Good News to as many people as we can so they can be changed from God's enemies to His friends through faith in Jesus Christ.

Our two-fold commission is Outreach and Inreach. All of us are to be His witnesses to win people to Christ and incorporate them into His Body, the Church. We are also to teach God's Word to them so they become responsible, reproducing disciples.

Our three-fold ministry includes leading, feeding, and bleeding. We offer training to equip our people for roles of leadership, for tasks of teaching children and adults and for the servant role of care givers.

Our four-fold commitment is to love God above all, to love our self because Jesus loves us, to love our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, and to love the non-member in the world.

Our five-fold priority is to guide us in how we spend our resources. People come first because ministry to people is our business. Staff next and then facility. Mission and charity are our fourth and fifth priorities.

The six-fold covenant is our way to challenge our members to strive for spiritual excellence, and not compromise for mediocrity in our spiritual walk. The detailed disciplines are handed out during the discovery classes. We make a commitment to worship faithfully, receive Holy Communion frequently, pray daily, study God's Word regularly, serve willingly, give sacrificially and witness boldly.

These 21 points are based on God's Word that places us in a tension between the perfection God wants and the reality where we are. Yet we know as forgiven sinners, that there is an urgency to stay in the race and to always press on to reach the goals set by God for our church.
